Anello's Torch Lite Restaurant

Date Visited:  July 6, 2012
Location:       1276 E Green Bay St.
                    Shawano, WI

A classic Wisconsin SupperClub with a bonus petting zoo out back.  Historic building that was once a favorite stop for Chicago gangsters on their way up-north.  Great family entertainment or a place for couples to spend a nice night out.

Atmosphere ****
The usual dark wood, dimly lit bar greets you as you enter.  Can get crowded at the bar but plenty of room in the dining areas.  Many windows allow you to look outside as you dine - and view the animals.  After dining, take a walk outback to check out many animals that live on site.

Clientele ***
Mostly older crowd with families mixed in.  The petting zoo draws families with kids but generally the customers are experienced, well-seasoned elders.

Drinks **
We were seated quickly and didn't get to experience the bar for very long.  Decent old-fashions and a well-stocked bar.

Food ****
The food was excellent and portions were generous.  Very nice soup and salad bar that was fill as needed.

Hospitality ***
Everyone was very friendly and helpful.  Bartenders and servers appear very festive as they wear vests made of sequins.  Very colorful place, with the vests changing with the Holidays.  Overall, an enjoyable experience with friendly staff.  A special note - the owner's granddaughter was awesome with the animals - and letting us hold a vary of them.   We also meet the owners who gave us a background as to how the animals got there.
